Customer Experience

Molly Murphy’s current role can be summed up in two words - sharing and caring. She has ideated, strategized, and executed communications and culture initiatives at Cisco since 2012. Her current role focuses on further establishing the Customer Success organization to increase internal advocates, drive overall alignment, and best position Cisco as an industry leader. This includes but is not limited to executive communications, internal relations and ‘people program’ strategy, such as rewards and recognition, and Power of Teams initiatives.

Prior to Cisco, Molly focused on Hilton Worldwide's Honors loyalty program, and the Waldorf Astoria and Conrad Hotels & Resorts luxury brand as a consumer vice president at Edelman. She was a key lead and contributor to PR programs at Golin from 2006-11, and conducted on-the-ground activation for McDonald’s sponsorships at the Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games, and 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, along with global initiatives for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Additional past clients include U.S. Army Health Care Brigade, Procter & Gamble, Northwestern University, General Mills and the American Veterinary Medical Foundation.

Molly began her career with internships Universal Pictures, Principal Financial Group, and Pomerantz Events. She earned her undergraduate degree in Journalism & Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations from Iowa State University, followed by a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

When she is not playing her biggest role - mom - to an active toddler, Molly serves as a board member for the South Central Iowa Community Foundation (SCICF), Ringgold County Development Group and the Raider Education Foundation.

Awards, Honors, and Affiliations

Along with earning top public relations industry awards through her work with McDonald’s Corporation and U.S. Army Health Care, Molly was a 2014 honoree as an Iowa STATEment Maker, which recognizes top young alumni. She was also a nominated participant for Cisco’s JUMP Women’s Development Program and the Global Virtual Sales & Customer Success (GVS&CS) Power of Teams Champions program.
